Staff training

Every bar’s success lies with its staff. The wide variety of training programmes offered by A Bartender Network provides something for bartenders of every level.
Beginners’ training courses, for example, cover the basic principles of cocktails shaking. These courses also cover basics such as meeting, greeting and treating customers, hygiene, efficiency and efficacy, the history of cocktails, a knowledge of alcoholic drinks and the right way to serve them.

Every bartender can learn how to prepare cocktails. A Bartender Network recommends, however, that a bartender begins with the basics before making cocktails. The basics are essential to preparing cocktails well. A Bartender Network’s training programmes are constructed from modules, designed to teach bartenders how to acquire the many aspects of the profession.
A number of the modules are:

Basic bar training
Expert bar training
Basic cocktail making
Expert cocktail making
Mixology training
Coffee training
Service training
Role-play
Speed and efficiency
Refresher courses

In our experience, small training groups, high quality ingredients, interaction, practical exercises and role-play are the most efficient training methods. Manuals with basic information, recipes, and additional information if required by the bartenders or clients, are provided.
